Rebecca began her professional career in Broadcast Journalism over 13 years ago. However, it is a little longer if you take in to account her television extra work as a univeristy student!  She worked for a local casting agency and appeared in various programmes and sitcoms - Peak Practice, Crossroads, Doctors, Merseybeat and Barbara. A great insight in to the industry ... and a fun way in making some extra cash!

Having gained a BA (Hons) English Language with Media and Cultural Studies degree and a Postgraduate Diploma in Television Journalism - she started on a work experience placement with the BBC. She continues to go from strength to strength ...

Working in local radio, BBC Radio Manchester and BBC Radio Lancashire, she engaged well with her audience, often bringing touches of humour and honesty. A BBC Producer once described her as making "smiley radio". She also worked on breaking news stories and investigative items - often on live location.

She was soon given the opportunity to work in national radio. A hard working and confident Journalist - she was a Newsreader and Reporter for Newsbeat on BBC Radio 1. She also filed her stories across the BBC. Whilst reporting from an Amy Winehouse court case in London, she was approached by a German television station to do a 2-way with their presenter - Rebecca did an informative and entertaining report.

Rebecca's recent role has been as a Television Reporter for a regional based station - Channel M News. Here she reported on what was happening locally around the area - working with camera crews and editing her work on Final Cut Pro. She reported on news, sport and entertainment.

Rebecca currently works at BBC North West Tonight (a regional news station), BBC Radio 5 live and GMTV.

Rebecca has a wealth of experience in Broadcast Journalism. She has interviewed many politicians, sporting heroes and soap stars! She has plenty of energy and thoroughly enjoys what she does...
